Week Eight.

This week I decided to look back at all my samples and drawings choosing three which I thought showed skill and had potential to be developed. The first sample is created using the water soluble fabric. I feel this piece is plain and simple, however it has the potential to grow, during this week I learnt how to use the double needles, so I can create more pieces on the dissolvable fabric which will hold better and I will therefore be able to create more interesting ideas. The second photo is a hand stitched sample which I feel works well with the bottom photo, a page in my sketchbook. As I was looking through all my work I started to get inspirational ideas from my samples. many of my samples reminded me of a natural environment, therefore I moved on from my theme reflections and started to look at shells and ice patterns within. Particularly picking out the circular shapes and flowing rhythms. This lead on to the sample as the use of the Cornely creates an ice like pattern, and the French knots recreate the pattern found on shells. I feel this sample is one of my strongest and it all blends in well together.
