Locating: Developed Knitted Designs.

This week I focused on developing my initial knit samples.
This sample created on the domestic knitting machine using partial knit, is developed from a previous sample. The plain colouring with hints of green allows the focus to be on the structure of the piece. When creating more samples based on the structures and patterns, I will use plainer colours.

This sample made me realise that I need more black within the samples. This will add areas of interest.

This sample focuses on the travelling mock rib. The inlayed teal tape yarn adds volume. I want to make this extreme for a higher fashion piece, leading me to create a thicker tape yarn to be inlayed.

This shows how I have developed the travelling mock rib, by having it flow into a two by one rib. Creating a sample where a two by one rib with plainer knit at the sides and having the rib flow up will be an interesting development from my initial pieces. This is something I will develop next week.
