Gathering Inspiration.

This week I went into the city to find inspiration and gather photos and drawings. I then started to develop these drawings by editing them to create unusual patterns and designs which can be brought forward into knit. I found I preferred to look at buildings and architecture; particularly the skylines of the city and the shapes of the different buildings. I feel I work in a muted way looking at shapes rather than intricate details, so I made up the buildings using blocked patterns which I have edited to create these more detailed but still abstract patterns. I feel I now need to find a colour pallet and start to decide what context I want my work to be perceived. I am more of an abstract designer however I am going to look at both Fashion designers and Interior designs so I can look at a wide field of work.
