Artist. Brooks Shane Salzwedel.

This artist's work is highly inspirational due to his use of layering. I think the way the drawings are repeated and worked on top of one another, links to my embroidery ideas and samples. I have started to layer and repeat fabrics and shapes to develop my initial idea of reflections and shadows. Salzwedel's work is done mainly using a monochrome colour pallet which also links to my work. I think the way he blurs and thickens his lines portrays the effect of shadows, has inspired me to use varying threads to show the depth of the shadows within my work. To develop from this I have looked at shadow work embroidery to gain the depth and layered effect, however I have developed this to my own theme by the use of the shapes and pattern.
